    Dear Colleagues and Friends,<\/span><\/p>

    It is my great pleasure and honour, as the newly elected President of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO), to welcome you to the 2027 ECVO Annual Scientific Meeting, which will take place in Warsaw, Poland, from May 19\u201321, 2027<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

    Our Annual Scientific Meeting is much more than a scientific event; it is a unique opportunity for learning, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among colleagues who share the same passion for veterinary ophthalmology. Each year, specialists, residents, researchers, and practitioners from different countries and professional backgrounds come together to create an inspiring environment where knowledge, experience, and innovation can be shared and advanced.<\/span><\/p>

    The first day of the meeting will be dedicated to the theme <\/span>\u201cArtificial Intelligence in Veterinary Ophthalmology\u201d<\/span><\/strong>, introducing a new format to our conference programme. Experts in the field, together with colleagues already applying these technologies in clinical practice, will explore the remarkable potential of artificial intelligence and its growing role in veterinary ophthalmology.<\/span><\/p>

    We would like this special day to be highly interactive and engaging for all participants. For this reason, we invite colleagues who wish to make a personal contribution to this session of <\/span>\u201cAdvanced Ophthalmology Insights\u201d<\/span><\/strong> to submit an application for a short pitch presentation. The application form can be downloaded from our website.<\/span><\/p>

    The second and third days will feature the traditional ECVO Scientific Meeting, including case reports, clinical presentations, and research findings presented by specialists from around the world.<\/span><\/p>

    We are particularly honoured that Dr. Siegfried Wagner will deliver the prestigious State-of-the-Art Lecture, entitled <\/span>\u201cOculomics \u2013 Retinal Imaging and AI for Systemic Health and Disease\u201d<\/span><\/strong>, on Friday, May 21.<\/span><\/p>

    As in previous years, the meeting will be available in a hybrid format. Participants will be able to attend either in person at the Warsaw Presidential Hotel or remotely online. All attendees will have access to the full scientific programme, with recordings available until the end of August 2027.<\/span><\/p>

    To ensure your in-person participation, we encourage you to register early, as participation will be limited by the lecture hall\u2019s seating capacity.<\/p>

    This meeting will provide an exciting scientific programme covering the latest developments in veterinary ophthalmology, offering opportunities to discuss new research, challenging clinical cases, and evolving diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Equally important, it will provide the opportunity to strengthen existing friendships and establish new professional relationships within our community.<\/span><\/p>

    Warsaw, a city where history and modernity coexist in a fascinating way, offers a wonderful setting for our meeting. I hope you will enjoy not only the scientific programme but also the opportunity to experience the culture, hospitality, and atmosphere of this remarkable city.<\/span><\/p>
