The Scientific Committee of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists is calling for abstracts (Original Research, Clinical, Resident, and Poster abstracts) to be presented at the 2021 ECVO Meeting (virtual meeting)

Deadline for abstract submission is 04 March 2021.

The abstract and a short CV must be submitted online on
https://www.eventclass.org/contxt_ecvo2021

Any abstracts submitted must be written in English and must be proof read before submission. Your abstract should not contain more than 250 words.

All abstracts must include the headings Purpose, Methods, Results and Conclusions. Abstracts must be previously unpublished work at the time of submission and remain unpublished until after the ECVO Annual Scientific Meeting 2021.

Studies submitted must not have been presented at a national or international meeting prior to the 2021 ECVO Meeting with the exception of the 2021 ARVO Meeting.

If experimental animals were used in the research, it is required that authors confirm adherence to the ARVO Statement for the Use of Animals in Ophthalmic and Vision Research and confirm that prior approval was obtained by the relevant institutional ethics committee such as an Institutional Animal Use and Care Committee. The relevant permit number (such as of the approved Animal Use Form) and date of approval must be provided.

Original Research Abstracts: Short oral presentations of original scientific studies (basic, applied, clinical) in veterinary ophthalmology.
Clinical Abstracts: Short oral presentations of interesting case reports or clinical studies.
Resident Abstracts: Short oral presentations of ECVO residents’ original research.

Abstracts from residents that were accepted for 2020 will be accepted again for 2021 as long as the paper is the same.

All paper presentations are scheduled for a speaking time of 12 minutes.

Posters: This session will consist of reports in poster format of investigative and clinical studies. The layout for the poster must follow the main headings used in the abstract (Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions). Posters should be created using PowerPoint and will be uploaded for digital presentation prior to the meeting.

Each abstract will be evaluated by members of the Scientific Committee and marked based on design, originality, and relevance to ophthalmology.
The abstracts will be ranked according to score and selected for presentation in the session requested, based on available space.
Abstracts may be returned to the author for revision at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.

You will be notified of the outcome of the review process by early April 2021.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings book.
Please note that the presenting author of an accepted abstract is required to register and pay the full Annual Meeting registration fee, attend the Annual Meeting online and make the presentation of the abstract.
Be aware that the abstract will only be published if the presenting author has registered for the meeting and paid the registration fee!

All presentations are required to be prepared using Power Point. Presentations will be prerecorded prior to the meeting. Technical details will be provided to the presenting author with their abstract acceptance notification per email.

Please note:
  • You cannot upload any figures/images to your abstract.
